The HACIA Scholarship & Education Foundation has established an undergraduate scholarship award for Hispanic students enrolled in an accredited university or college institution in curriculums related to the construction, architectural, or engineering fields of study. Applicants should either reside in the Chicagoland area or attend a local Chicagoland area university.

All Material should be attached to your application:

  • School Transcripts if you have attended more than one school, a transcript is required from each instruction unless grades from the previous school(s) appear on the present transcript. (MUST BE ORGINIAL TRANSCRIPTS)
  • Resume listing your educational background, work history, awards, construction- related internships, other scholarships, language proficiency and any work done for your school.
  • One reference letter on Company Letterhead from a person who is familiar with your academic work. Examples: professors, counselors, employers, faculty advisors, etc.). Letters from relatives will not be accepted.
  • Construction Industry Interest Essay:
  • a. Why are you interested in a career in Engineering, Architecture and Construction?
  • b. What event, story, person, experience, etc., inspired you to pursue a career in this field?
  • c. As a Hispanic, what hardships or obstacles have you experienced while trying to realize your goal of pursuing your career?
    • The financial portion must be completed and signed by your financial aid advisor.

    The Hispanic American Industry Association Scholarship & Education Foundation (HACIASEF) is a non-profit 501c(3) organization whose mission is to provide on-going training and educational services to businesses and their employees in the construction related industry. HACIA also annually awards scholarships to deserving students studying in the construction field to further their education to become future leaders in the industry. HACIASEF strives to promote awareness of professional career opportunities and continues to raise the bar in its goal to promote the future leaders in the fields of technology, architecture, engineering, construction & professional services industries. HACIASEF believes all qualified construction business should have equal access to opportunities and education in their industry. HACIASEF also joins the effort to build diversity in the construction world and advocates public policy that formally outlines the rights and responsibilities of minority firms in the Chicago land area.
