Sustainability Program Manager

Hector manages Workforce and Sustainability programs at HACIA, including the Pre-Apprenticeship Program, EV Charging Workshops, and Safety Classes. He focuses on building key relationships to expand HACIA’s presence in the Green Construction industry and create partnerships that provide pathways to employment for program graduates.

Hector graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. After working for local politicians, he transitioned into recruitment and after-school childcare before moving into workforce development. He joined HACIA in October 2022 as Workforce Development Program Manager and was promoted to Sustainability Program Manager in December 2022.

Hector has been instrumental in growing HACIA’s sustainability efforts by establishing partnerships with companies like Solar Landscape and organizations such as the Illinois Green Alliance. His primary goal at HACIA is to help individuals connect with construction careers that offer opportunities for generational wealth. Outside of work, Hector enjoys spending time with his family and mentoring young people. Having experienced several career paths himself, he is passionate about helping others navigate their own. He thrives on building relationships and giving back to his community.
