Congressman Garcia introduces bill to help minority-owned small businesses
There are more than 32 million small businesses in the United States, and those companies employ half of America’s workforce.

On Wednesday, May 4, 2022, Congressman Jesus “Chuy” Garcia held a press conference at HACIA to Introduce a Bill to Advance Diversity in Transportation & Infrastructure called the “Giving Disadvantaged Businesses Opportunities for Success” Act.

Congressman Garcia, who is a member of the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and co-founder of the Future of Transportation Caucus teamed up with HACIA and the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce to introduce a federal bill to increase the technical assistance and capacity of women-and-minority owned businesses in the transportation and infrastructure sector.
