Marisabel Pozo

Business Capacity Program Manager

Marisabel serves as the Business Capacity Program Manager. She will be delivering business agnostic and technical capacity training programs to support the growth and scale of construction businesses.

Marisabel is an urban planner with experience in non-profit and corporate, in Chicago and abroad, and she is happy to bring her expertise in the small business community to strengthen the Business Capacity Program and bring education to more underrepresented business owners to help them grow in the construction industry. During her time working in economic development at North River Commission, Marisabel got to understand the strengths and weaknesses of entrepreneurs and the impact that organizations such as HACIA have on business owners that receive support and resources.

She is excited to start building relationships with business owners and with other organizations to serve as a connector and see entrepreneurs succeed!

When she is not working (at HACIA), she works in her small businesses – Brazilian Bowl Restaurant and Everyday Brazil. She also enjoys reading, running, planning trips, and relaxing with her husband and puppy, Giuseppe Pepperoni.

Fun fact: After getting her Master’s degree at UIC, Marisabel worked and lived in the Ecuadorian Amazon for a couple of months, where she got to see the beauty of the jungle and its people, and some of the most beautiful sunsets over the Napo River.
