Ivette Treviño

Director of Strategic Partnerships & Membership Engagement

Ivette Trevino serves as the Director of Partnerships and Membership Engagement at the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association (HACIA), a construction advocacy and membership organization working to ensure the equitable participation of construction industry professionals. In this role, Ivette creates impact by  engaging with partners, members, and government leaders on advocacy, workforce education and training, economic development and procurement opportunities to small and minority-owned businesses. 
 

Previously, Ivette served as the Executive Director of the Little Village Chamber of Commerce (LVCC). Little Village is the second-largest business corridor in the City of Chicago, with over 1,000 businesses that contribute over $900 million to the state's economy and serve over 85,000 residents. Under her leadership, LVCC was able to increase funding, membership and most importantly the number of State of Illinois - Back to Business grant recipients in Little Village during the COVID-19 global pandemic. 

Ivette also held various roles that led to the growth of the Mexican American Chamber of Commerce dba Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC). Her roles included Director of the Cook County COVID-19 Recovery: Small Business Assistance Program, where she engaged with suburban Cook County small businesses with grants and technical assistance. Ivette was also the Facilitator for the 1871+IHCC Latinx Incubator, its first-of-its-kind incubator program for Latinx tech startups. 

In 2020, Mayor Lori Lightfoot appointed Ivette to the City of Chicago Women’s Advisory Council where she remains active and focuses on creating gender and racial equity. Ivette was also appointed to the Chicago Transit Authority Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Advisory Committee where she advocates for minority-owned business. Ivette is also a board of trustee with the National Museum of Mexican Art.  

Ivette is a lifelong learner who continues to invest in her leadership skills by completing programs like the Chicago Latino Caucus Foundation, Leadership Academy, the Mujeres de HACE program at the Hispanic Alliance for Career Enhancement (HACE) and the Metropolitan Leadership Institute (MLI). Ivette received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Public Policy. 

Ivette is a Chicago native and grew up playing basketball on the southwest side. She currently resides in West Lawn with her husband and children, where they remain active in sports like baseball and basketball.
