Gabriel Ignacio Dziekiewicz is the President and Principal of design at DesignBridge, an innovative, award-winning, collaborative practice of architects and designers, with a 30 year history, based in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 1985, by Victor Ignacio Dziekiewicz, DesignBridge is a professional service design firm, established to bring together a diverse group of professionals to work interdependently to seek creative, distinguished and sustainable solutions within the fields of Architecture, Urbanism, Interior Design and Graphic Media.

Gabriel is a licensed architect in the State of Illinois and a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional. Since joining DesignBridge in early 2007, Gabriel has led the design direction and collaborated on numerous architectural and interior design projects, including mixed-use and residential developments, affordable housing, academic buildings, hotel and hospitality design, high-end residential interiors, and restaurant and entertainment concepts. Additionally, his professional work has included urban planning, branding, marketing campaigns, and website development.

In 2015, Gabriel was appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel to serve as a Commissioner on the Commission on Chicago Landmarks, where he also sits on the Commission’s Permit Review Committee. His expertise and interest in Historic Preservation have made him a key member of the Landmark Commission. He is also a member of HACIA – The Hispanic American Construction Industry Association, where he leads as the Chair of the Sustainability Committee; a committee designed to engage and educate HACIA membership to remain at the forefront of sustainable practices and emerging technology.

Gabriel has over 14 years of professional experience in Architecture and Design. Prior to joining DesignBridge, Gabriel worked for two prominent Chicago Architectural firms – Solomon Cordwell Buenz and Destefano+Partners, Ltd. – where he collaborated on several large scale hi-rise projects and multistory residential / mixed-use developments, such as Block 37’s proposed residential tower, along with various office building and retail spaces, including One South Dearborn in Chicago, and Riverbend Corporate Park in Fort Lauderdale.

Gabriel received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 2002, and completed his Master of Architecture at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he was the recipient of several awards and distinctions for design and academic excellence.
