Daisy Alvarado

Workforce Retention Specialist

Daisy Alvarado is the Workforce Retention Specialist at HACIA, where she enhances program retention by offering a range of support services to workforce participants. Through relationship-building, Daisy provides resource connections and goal planning to foster their success. A key aspect of her role involves career development, including assisting participants as they transition into employment or DOL-registered apprenticeships.

Daisy joined HACIA in early 2024, bringing experience from Catholic Charities, where she served as a Program Coordinator at the Peace Corner Youth Center in the Austin neighborhood. Her background includes roles as a Service Coordinator and Navigator for justice-involved youth, a Guest Services Specialist at a women’s shelter, and even as a Custodian during her undergraduate studies. Her career has been devoted to empowering disadvantaged individuals to realize their potential and become their best selves. Though new to workforce development, Daisy’s extensive experience in resource connection and program coordination has provided a strong foundation for her success at HACIA. She takes great satisfaction in helping individuals find opportunities that benefit them and their families in the long term.

Outside of work, Daisy enjoys exploring clearance aisles (especially in bookstores), playing video games, and watching a wide range of TV, from documentaries and horror films to anime. Born and slightly raised in Los Angeles, Daisy has spent most of her life as a resident of Washington state, but she did spend two years in Boston and became a Chicagoan in 2021. She currently resides with her husband, their cat, and their dog, enjoying small adventures around the city while still cherishing her homebody tendencies.
