Since 1979, HACIA has been on the front lines advocating for equity in construction. Your donation helps us continue breaking down systemic barriers and gives diverse owned construction businesses the tools, training, and networks they need to grow. Your support also strengthens our events and membership initiatives, which create opportunities for small and diverse businesses to connect, collaborate, and expand their reach within the industry.
Training and Workforce Development
Donations to HACIA support training that empowers individuals to start or advance their careers in construction. Our programs types are:
- Workforce Development
- Programs that equip individuals with the skills, certifications, and knowledge needed to excel in high-demand fields like construction, renewable energy, and green technology, while emphasizing safety, sustainability, and professional development.
- Business Capacity
- Programs that aim to break down three main barriers: 1) capacity constraints, 2) limited access to networks; and 3) sparse contracting opportunities for small and diverse business leaders.
These programs are designed not just to teach, but to create change and build generational opportunity for historically underrepresented contractors and professionals.
Investing in the Next Generation Through Education
HACIASEF, our 501(c)(3) nonprofit, makes it possible for aspiring construction professionals to pursue higher education in construction-related fields like architecture, engineering, construction management, and more.
Over the years, HACIASEF has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships. These aren’t just dollars, they’re investments in the future leaders of our industry.
Real Impact, Real Numbers
- In 2024 alone, HACIA hosted 61 events, trainings, and workshops to connect members with industry professionals.
- Also in 2024, HACIA offered 17 low-cost or no-cost programs resulting in more than 200 diplomas awarded.
