FEJA: General Construction Pre-Apprenticeship Bridge Program

This is a no-cost to you, grant-funded program that focuses on giving participants the skills to begin a career in the construction industry with an emphasis on clean energy and green construction jobs. This is a direct pathway to our FEJA Introduction to Electrification Pre-Apprenticeship and EV Charger Installation Trainings.

Start Your Career in Green Construction Today

This program prepares participants with fundamental general construction skills while offering the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications, including CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10, and NCCER Core Level 1.

Upon completion of the bridge program, participants who successfully complete the program will have access to reserved seats in the Introduction to Electrification Pre-Apprenticeship and EV Charger Installation trainings (additional information available at the bottom of this page).

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old and above
  • Illinois Resident
  • Proof of identification (State ID or Driver’s License)
  • High School Diploma or GED/HISET
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Take an entrance exam provided by the Institute for Workforce Education (IWE).
    • Exam will be sent via email after completion of application.
