Responsibilities:

1. Project Review:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and walkthroughs to gather additional project information.

2. Quantity Takeoff and Cost Analysis:

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and material quantities from project drawings and specifications.
  • Analyze project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to accurately calculate project costs.

3. Cost Estimation:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for construction projects.
  • Research and gather pricing information for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Ensure that cost estimates are accurate, competitive, and in line with project requirements.

4. Bid Preparation and Submission:

  • Prepare bid documents, including pricing schedules, bid forms, and qualifications statements.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain bids and pricing for project components.
  • Submit bids and proposals to clients and stakeholders within designated deadlines.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bid documents, and related correspondence.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates, analyses, and reports to management and project teams.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and financial forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in construction estimating or related field is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costs.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., RSMeans, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff).
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
