We offer all concrete construction solutions including curb and gutter, sidewalk and pavement, base course, footings, foundations, piers, reinforced and post tension slabs, metal deck slabs, moment slabs and barrier wall
Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documents to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects, and services for our line of work
- Work on multiple projects and maintain contact with field personnel to handle questions, regarding RFI’s, change orders, and technical related issues
- Oversee submittals
- Setup and track quantities on Unit Price jobs
- Responsible for job packaging, scheduling, job cost & tracking, and must present well to clients and general contractors
- Estimate all necessary labor, materials, bid items, equipment costs to prepare a thorough price estimate
- Review proposals, specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc.…to determine scope of work and develop quantity take-offs
- Track and review costs vs. budgets
- Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers and general contractors
- Submit closeout documents including warranties, final waivers, etc.
- Fill out and review monthly job cost reports
- Review quarterly job costs and adjust budgets as required
- Work with the Project Manager to provide them with assistance in weighing the potential risks and costs associated with taking on a particular project
Requirements:
- At least 3+ years estimating successful large commercial self-perform concrete projects
- Good verbal and written communication skills for dealing with contractors, suppliers, purchasing, sales, and others.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations including IDOT, CDOT, and Tollway
- Microsoft software applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams
- Experience using Planswift Software preferred or takeoff software equivalent (Bluebeam)
- Strong problem solving skills
- Understanding of ADA Compliances for Chicago Concrete Site Work
- 1 Year minimum of Field Experience is preferred
