As part of its mission to enhance the competitiveness of members and minority construction firms, HACIA sponsors a comprehensive schedule of business trainings and seminars throughout the year:

IDOT Supportive Services Program (DBE Trainings)
HACIA's Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Trainings assist small and large DBE's in creating success throughout the entire procurement process. Training topics range from pre-award activities such as developing effective planning schedules and bidding strategies, to creating streamlined internal operations and thorough reporting activities once an award has been granted. HACIA's DBE Trainings are made possible through a supportive services program of the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and are available to any certified DBE that is part of Illinois's highway construction industry.

IL DCEO "ETIP" Program (Small Business Development Seminars)
HACIA offers Small Business Development Seminars that help local businesses enhance operations and ultimately, their results. Provided in partnership with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity's Employer Training Investment Program (ETIP), Small Business trainings focus on topics including:

- Construction Industry Skills & Specialized Services
- Information Technology & Computer Applications
- Effective Management
- Professional Development
