HIGH SPEED RAIL SYMPOSIUM
President Barack Obama's economic stimulus package included an unprecedented $8 billion to develop High Speed railroad corridors in the United States, also promising to add an additional $1 billion a year for future development. High-Speed Rail in the U.S is no longer a vision of the future; it clearly is becoming a reality for today! This Symposium will discuss the advantages and benefits associated with high-speed rail concepts and how it will affect your industry.
Presentations of successful High-Speed Rail programs implemented in the northeastern region of the United States along with established projects in Europe and Japan will be highlighted. In addition, Symposium participants will benefit in hearing from industry experts, officials from AMTRAK, The Illinois Department of Transportation and a special presentation from Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and our Keynote Speaker, Illinois Senator Richard Durbin.
A host of major Architectural, Engineering and Construction companies and professionals will be in attendance. Small to medium size firms will also participate in the event seeking opportunities in solidifying new and established relationships as partners in engineering, construction and assisting in meeting procurement mandates or requirements.
High Speed Rail is envisioned as playing a major role in the infrastructure of our country as it embraces the reality of high-energy costs. A High Speed Rail corridor is under consideration for the route from Chicago to St. Louis. High Speed Rail will also play a major role as well within the infrastructure framework of a Chicago 2016 Olympics. Surely you will want your firm to 'get on track' and in position to explore the value and benefits surrounding High Speed Rail.
